She recently achieved the 500 subbies benchmark on her YT channel and as this coincided with her birthday month of April, she announced a 500 subscribers give-away.
I decided to enter, not as a potential winner, but because I admire her and wanted to support her channel.
What to send...something different, maybe a little unusual...but what?...Oh, I know...I will make her a paper clock for her craft room!
(I love the juxtaposition of the permanence and inevitability of time in our lives and as an abstract mental construct being linked with the flimsy, transient impermanence of paper...). Who knows how long the thing will actually go for...but does it matter? I hope Maggie likes this thought as much as I do...
Maggie messaged me today to say that it had finally arrived and in one piece and I heaved a sigh of relief...I had been half expecting a knock on the door and a "Please Explain" from Australian Border Force personnel...
Happy belated birthday Maggie, and I hope you get lots of entries in your celebratory event...here's to the next 500!
