I have thought a few times as I make the boxes from the templates, and I have made a few now in the different sizes...they are very addictive!..that the light chipboard I am using seems a tad "soft"...I started this box thinking that it would be the start of the April project, but have decided to stop the box making part of the exercise until I can obtain some firmer, stronger chipboard. Something I have found with almost all my paper crafting exploits so far is that the quality of the paper material you are using is paramount in the success of the finished item...not really surprising that thought, take "cooking" wine as an example...Now I have transposed that simple quality idea to the chipboard supplies I have on hand I am anxious to get going on a different type of board to see if I am right.
Meanwhile...
I had the small box well underway, almost finished in fact as far as construction goes, so I decided to finish it anyway. I changed tack on the appearance of the box and have made it in a "pretty" style, something I very rarely do, for a friend who is soon to celebrate a significant birthday, (one with diamonds as a theme), and thought I would share it here, rather than on YT...I need to be practising my photography skills as I have the next unit at Uni starting soon...
The YT site I found back then, with lots of good tutorials, was Aleshia Beadifulnights, specifically Glass Marble and Wire Buttons...
I will post an additional photo here once the feet have been added.
The size of this box makes it perfect to hold a small photo album, sized for Instax pics in particular, or a gift...it would also be a nice size to send a special card in, one with a lot of dimension, even ATC's...or just as a box to hold little treasures in, or jewellery...for those who like to have such boxes about (I am a clean surface sort of person, me, but I know a lot of folk who prefer to have pretty things about...
better trot, bye for now,
Di
