However, the dull day got me working away at the Smalls Album and it is almost completed. I had a couple of logistical problems with the covers as I didn't want it to be too hefty an article, but also I wanted ten pages, one for each of the days we were away...I now have that sorted.
It is a project that has been hanging fire for quite a while now, it is a good feeling to finally have it to this point.
Several of the pages, five I think, have additional flip pages and there is a little punch work on some of the edges. It looks pretty good, I think and now I can start of the fun bits, adding the embellishments I have been making and all the details of our trip.
I am going to take my time over the finishing because I'd like it to be a good record to look back on. When I think about it I really haven't ever simply finished off an album or journal before about a specific event or occasion, so I'm on a learning curve here.
I have used it pretty much all over the Smalls album, as this one is staying with me, so I will be able to see just how well the tape holds out over time. Mind you, it was only about four dollars with free postage here to Tasmania, so not really a problem. My thoughts so far are that it is an excellent buy. The backing tape removes easily and it certainly seems to be a very strong hold. I also love that it comes with a neat little plasticy petticoat which keeps the sides of the roll clean and free from any debris or fluff that may be lurking about.
We are meeting Sarah, Karina and Brad later on as it is Karina's birthday today. While in Melbourne on our way home we visited IKEA and one of the purchases I made at the food hall was a box of chocolate muffin mix. It looked like a two litre milk carton and it has been sitting on our bench ever since we arrived home. This morning I got Chris to open it, add the required cup of water and give it his best strong arm shaking. I poured the mixture into cup cake papers in a muffin tray and so into the oven. The only cleaning up was to throw out the carton. The muffins cooked well in ten minutes, were iced with a chocolate glace and given Chris' taste test, receiving a big thumbs up from him.
In order to remove the remainder from all our latent temptation later in the day I decided to pop two each into one of the little boxes and lids I had been playing with earlier...
See you soon,
Di
