I had noticed that when I was last looking through my small paper pad bin that I had several Kaisercraft 6.5 x 6.5 paper collections almost emptied, so I pulled them out and decided to finish off the papers. The two I used, "Magnolia Grove" and "Curiosity" (both oldies!), were not too dissimilar colour and stylewise, so they were the ones that I chose. The small paper size set the limit for the project, rather.
I have been meaning to make a couple of little file folder brag books similar to this one, made a few months ago, to have available in my stash, for gifts. After I finish this one I want to make a masculine one...lots of proud dads, uncles and grandads out there, after all. One of them might just like to have one to show off his family...(also, I have a neat little six by six paper stack that is masculine...).
I find these little albums are really nice to give new grand parents...photos on phones are ok for a quick squizz, but nothing beats having a real photo album to hand around.
I know that if someone hands me an electronic device to have a look a photograph, there will be several interludes of technical interruption along with endless explanation re the technology shortcomings of the device in question, (never of the operator/owner), to detract me from the image appreciation moment.
I would rather have a couple of moments to gaze at a couple of real photographs, ask appropriate questions and offer suitably admiring comments in regard to the image...personal taste I know...
I still have a small stash of old file folders. I use these from time to time as cover liners, etc. as the weight is good, and most of them have a nice finish. (The "rough" manilla coloured folders that I dislike so much as the tooth of the paper simply is too rough on tags remain in the pile, but I have now had an idea to utilise those as well. I will be glad to be rid of them).
I used a couple of green folders for this album. Not the best colour, but it ended up "OK"..not what I would choose aesthetically if I wanted a perfectly appealing outcome...however, my pile of material that has been hanging fire is getting smaller...so all good really. Also, I always find that the items that I don't find too appealing when I am working on them, often find an appreciative owner somewhere down the track...I really don't know why but this always surprises me! ;)
Bye now,
Di
