This is the inspirational mood board posted by SBB...
For the background I applied Weathered Wood and Iced Spruce using foam applicators all over a piece of water colour paper. I then used a wavy stencil to water blot some texture, added more inks over the top, then added a little more of the weathered Wood through the stencil until I achieved a look that I was content with. I finally added some larger water drops from my fingers and blotted them off with paper towel to bleach a little more texture into the panel. A final light brushing around the edges with Black Soot DI and it was done.
I mounted the main panel onto a scrap of black fun foam, using Helmar Foam Glue. I also cut two 2.5cm circles from the remnants of the foam scrap and adhered these to the back of the little puffer fish.
I used an old SSS word bubble die to cut out a computer generated sentiment which I had printed onto white card in a dark grey coloured font downloaded from Dafont called "Leftover Crayon". The word bubble was also mounted on a scrap of foam.
These embellies were all mounted onto the card panel and then I stamped a couple of small water bubble clusters from an old stamp set with black Versafine and filled these with Glossy Accents to give the card front a little more shine.
I finished off the fish with a coating of Clear Wink of Stellar which isn't obvious in the photograph but adds a very subtle gleam. I did play briefly with the idea of adding some clear iridescent sequins...thinking fish scales...but wisely omitted them. This card is for a chap, after all and I wanted to keep it clean and straightforward looking.
That's it for today...a fun stamp and I now will have to try the whales, but only after I have finished the journals...
Bye now,
Di
