Access is immediate and level (something I now really appreciate). it was a favourite beach to take our dogs back in the day, there is always has enough beach combing interest in regards to seaweed and shells and it has it's quota of birdlife, especially if you get out the lunchbox...and the very best bit? It is almost always deserted...a quality I prefer of any beach.
Not yesterday though...there were about a dozen vehicles, mainly motor homes and camper vans, a group of people walking along on the Southern end of the beach, two folk sitting on beach chairs in the shade, two lasses sunbathing and a chap out in the sea bathing. Quelle horreur!
But I was brave, and we had a lovely long walk along the edge of the water...it was a warm day again yesterday and I had not taken my sun hat, so we didn't stop too long. A lively breeze was blowing from the North-East which stopped the heat being too oppressive, but I hope those girls in their bikinis had plenty of sun block on, as when a breeze like that is blowing, the sun burn effect can be quite insidious.
There were reports in the news last year about the negative effect of these bags on bird life in the area as the work will change the environment of the river mouth significantly.
On the way I saw a house for sale, near the southern end of Raspins Beach...I think it looks just right for us, I could have cats and another dog here, but Tim just shook his head...sigh!
Better go,
