The main bear in my very early life however was my own Edward Bear, although I remember calling him various names over the year we were very close...he was even "Stuart" for some unremembered reason, for a very short time.
He was a firm bodied, articulated dark fawn furry bear with leather patches on his pads, and he was very smart! I hated dolls and as I was the youngest child, he was my constant pre-school companion...he and I had many adventures together when we were both very young, camping out under a sheet thrown over the dining table, plotting revenge on my brother who was a bit of a bully to me when I was young, (not his fault, he had two older brothers to dish it out to him and I was a willing target, well, most of the time;).
Ted and I spent a lot of time in conversation back in the day, planning what we would do, where we would go when we grew up, all those important life decisions one makes when in conversation with one's bestest friend when young and the world is before one in all it's untarnished glittery promise...
Ted lived on for many years, enjoying a second childhood when my own littles were very young but sadly met his end in the undiscriminating jaws of a teething pug puppy. He had lived a good long life however, being about 50 years old at the time, balding, almost worn through in patches but very much loved until the end...this weeks inchie is in his memory.
I then mounted the little bear onto the inchie base with a dimensional foam dot just to lift the image a little from the text mat as the colours were very similar.
This inchie then carries two early childhood favourites, Ted and Charles Dickens...the bear is gone but not forgotten...I still love Mr. Dickens writings just as dearly and continue to read his books with the same enjoyment I found in them when I was six and discovered some of them on our bookshelf...and the best thing about them back then ( and now)? The language and the length of his books...just gorgeous.
Well that's about it for this week...I'm having a very quiet time at the moment.
I do have the very questionable pleasure of a new card order from a friend that I am prevaricating about rather...yes...it is for two more of the floral transparency cards that I swore I would never repeat after the first one...one has to be so careful what one thinks or says, doesn't one?
I almost wish that I had said I would want never EVER wish to win a huge fortune on Tattslotto, just to see what happens...mmm...wonder if it is worth a try...
Bye now,
Di
