Anyway, He Who Must Be Obeyed said his usual spiel...don't be silly, it's fine, she will love it, you are too critical...et al...and while I usually ignore suggestions along these lines from anyone, it is my critical assessment that I know I need to rely on at the end of the day, not someone else's (however kind they are being), I gave it a second squint and decided it would pass muster...it was pretty enough all things considered, there was nothing actually wrong with it and I simply didn't have time to organise a different card at that moment...
Cutting this long story a tad shorter, Tim delivered it to the recipient later that day on his travels...and she loved it. She liked it so much that she phoned to thank me and ask if I would make her one the same for a friend of hers who has a birthday looming, and said also that another friend had seen it and asked if I could make two more for her! So much for my opinion then.
Although the cards are not needed for a few weeks, I hate leaving things to the last minute...I prefer them done and dusted as soon as I have the time, so over the past few days I have been working on all three of these very flowery and colourful box cards...
I spent more time on the colouring for these three... cutting the flower components all from a good weight pale cream cardstock and colouring each group of petals for each flower separately. While this took much longer than simply cutting out the flowers from three different coloured cardstocks, I think the results are much nicer than the first trial one where I followed the instructions closely. Like using a new recipe, I find I almost always make one as per the tutorial and then adapt the outcomes to suit myself.
Here they are...
Bye now,
