Also I have been admiring cards by Betty on Bettys Crafts over the past little while, and when I went to the CAS(E) site today there she was, on the design team...I like how she manages to get a very minimal and stylish look, utilising little in the way of supplies, and a very simple pallette of colours.
Here is the card I made for the #137 challenge...
For this card I used Quill Metallique 285gsm board for the silver panel, Ranger heavyweight black cardstock for the card base and black panel.
The "happy" sentiment is simply cut out of the black panel so the silver layer shows the sentiment.
The partial diecut flower outline was then adhered to the silver layer at the corner of the black panel.
The "happy" sentiment is a SSS die, the flower outline is a Memory Box "Gorgeous Gardenia" die (although I always think of it as a camellia), and the embossed "Day" sentiment is from PTI's "Happiness in Bloom" stamp set.
I made a silver envelope using the remaining portion of the gardenia flower outline to decorate the corner.
And that's it for today,
Di
PS I did make Tim a cake for his birthday, after all...a cream cake...made with cream rather than filled with cream as the name seems to imply. It was rather nice, very plain but a nice moist texture...I will try it again once the stone fruit (plums) start to ripen, as I think it makes a rather nice dessert cake to serve with fresh or poached fruit in season. I served this one with fresh passionfruit syrup and more cream...there isn't much left...
