We all know that passion in any form for the over sixties, is an acknowledged oxymoronic proposition...;) (or so the youngsters among us usually think with their delightful youthful chauvinism)...but I know a couple of folk who may come rummaging through my card boxes as the date comes closer, hoping to find something along these lines.
Best to be prepared for anything, anyway, in this life...who knows what tomorrow may bring?
To get back to our agenda for today...I made a few embellishments some time ago, using Scotch Quick Dry adhesive and alcohol inks and thought I would try the technique again, just for fun. I had in my mind a simple, graphic design, and my memory of the texture and colour that could be achieved with the application of a little heat, prompted me to have another go today.
Here is the card I made...
After glueing the layers together I placed the embellie under a stamp block to allow the adhesive to dry evenly, nice and flat...but it also flattened out the lovely charred-looking texture of the heart...it reduced it to looking just like a piece of grilled capsicum!
In order to restore some texture, I applied more heat with the heat tool, and then when it was cool I applied a goodly coating of GA over the whole surface. I left it to dry for the rest of the day, (having ruined other pieces in the past by being to impatient to wait long enough:( ), before applying it, and the text die cuts to the front of the card.
It looks as I imagined it would, which is a nice change for me when card making!
Bye now,
Di
