Our Christmas houseguests left this morning to travel slowly up the East Coast of Tasmania towards the completion of their Tasmanian adventure.
They had some little excitements while staying here, with the motor of their four wheel drive requiring some urgent attention over Christmas (just when all good mechanics had their feet up, enjoying a break), but things got sorted once the public holidays were over, without too much financial stress, and the vehicle is returned to good health.
After Christmas they enjoyed some days visiting local tourist attractions, including Salamanca Market, Taste of Tasmania, the Shot Tower, Richmond Village etc, and had an overnight stay on Bruny Island, staying at Cloudy Corner, which they enjoyed immensely.
It was lovely having them here, lots of reminiscing and story telling, arguing over the inevitable individually remembered details of family events, and generally catching up with each others lives. The house will seem very empty over the next few days as we readjust to our quieter lifestyle without them.
Pig proved very antisocial while they were staying, and set up home beneath our bed for the duration, appearing very briefly only for meals and comfort stops, slinking back to his hidey hole almost immediately. Hopefully he will be back to normal soon too, the silly cat, once he realises that they have left.
Sarah, Karina and my brother joined us for lunch...and we all had a fun day, despite the heat!
Bye for now,
Di
