I also see her lovely work over on the Vintage Junk Journals Blog where she has lots of ideas and inspiration. Pernille is Danish and has decorating ideas I couldn't begin to imagine. Now I am generally a "clean surface" type of decorator, and apart from a few token bits and bobs at strategic points of the year, I don't ever decorate or make "Home Decor" items...not ever, even my scant Christmas decorations are all packed up and stored away before New Year, (Boxing Day if I can get away with it).
Anyhow, Pernille took some Ephemera's Vintage Garden papers and a freebie download of Debbie-Annes called Vintage Eggs, and has made several pretty bits and pieces to decorate her home over Easter, and has been posting them onto the Busy Bees page over the past week or so... today I decided that I could make ONE house, just to prove I am not completely opposed to pretty things about the house, occasionally and in very small quantities anyway. The family that live close enough are coming for lunch on Sunday so my little house, and Hanny's paper blomen will be up front on the day...I hope someone notices them!
I used a template for the little house from Helena Schaeder Söderberg's website. Helena is a Swedish Graphic Designer who has lovely templates to share on her blog. Her template is for a birdhouse, but I just made it plain, of course using book pages along with an image from the EVG Vintage Eggs printable and bit and pieces from my ephemera box of unconsidered trifles...I think the colouring suits our Autumn season very well, better than a lot of traditional Northern Hemisphere Spring patterns and designs.
I cut a couple of 12x12 papers down to A4 and also used a neutral, creamy pattern A4 sheet. I ran these through the printer applying Helena's template image onto the back of the paper so the dark print lines were not visible.
The first of these, the cream one, I scanned, saved and cut out on the Brother Scanncut, the second two I cut out by hand...
That's it from me for today...our subject this week at uni is Selfies...I am having to think this one through a bit, but as a selfie does not have to include one's face...I might be safe to continue.
Bye now,
Di
