Tim assisted me this year with the trimming of the first of the flowers, however he got a bit carried away and did a heavy pruning while he was at it, so the resulting dried mix contains a goodly quantity of leaf and fine stem fragments...he is learning!
The stems dried off in a couple of pillow cases for about six weeks and this weekend we have rubbed the flower capsules off the stems and I have bagged them up.
I made a few small sachets for a project I have been working on, and the rest simply went into three large bags I purchased last time I was at Springvale IKEA when travelling through Melbourne after visiting the smalls last year...
These new highly scented bags have been placed in the linen cupboard, the old bags from last year have taken up residence in our shoe storage boxes, and the remainder (all over three years and fading fast), have joined the compost bin...
