And the outcomes were quite positive. I feel I am understanding how the alcohol and acrylic paint background technique works much better than I did.
I also tried using some other pigment sources as well, namely my colour sprays, and these worked well too, although I only used them to put additional colour into a couple of paint mixes, and also to add additional fluid to loosen up the mix, instead of adding water, as I found that reducing the opacity of the paint mix added greatly to the effectiveness of the alcohol drip reaction.
Here is the video I made. You can watch here, or at You Tube...
Here in Tasmania we have a services cable called the Basslink Interconnector which runs under the sea from Northern Tasmania across Bass Strait to Victoria on the Australian mainland. I think it is the second longest undersea cable in the world...This cable's primary purpose is to carry electrical power between here and the mainland, but it also carries a number of fibreoptic assets...
This cable was damaged a couple of months ago, it took ages for the fault area to be identified. It is now finally being repaired with the result that internet and other services have been affected woefully today...not surprisingly, if the thing is to be repaired but some folk do seem to become very impatient and snakey when things don't go according to plan...maybe it's just because I am older and can remember clearly when communication was not nearly so instantaneous and immediately available that it hasn't really worried me that my video has taken many hours to upload...it isn't of earth-shattering importance anyway but having said that it will be nice when things get back to normal...we have become used to having a good connection here now we are on the National Broadband Network. If I had realised what was happenning I wouldn't have commenced uploading today...
Better trot, journal covers to finish,
bye now,
