I really only have myself to blame, as this is just like making an untested recipe when you haven't time to make a back up version when things go badly wrong.
I think there is a sort of Murphy's Law about this sort of occasion...
I am not at all happy with the card. Not, please note, from the point of view of the cutting file, that is lovely...no, I simply didn't have the papers suitable to make the card as I had envisioned it. the weight and colour of the paper makes the flowers look too rigid and the box section too flimsy.
Also I should not have tried to cut it yesterday...it was waaaay to hot and humid here in my craft room
The Brother Scanncut simply does not cut as well as my poor dead Sizzix eClips (which simply don't work here n Australia). The Brother is better than nothing, but does not cope with intricate cutting too well and is extraordinarily picky about which paper it will cut and what it simply will grab in it's teeth and rip up (reminds me of the Monster Book of Monsters when it gets started)...It loves Bazzill smooth cardstock (who doesn't), but that is hard to get here, and a lot of my paper supply is recycled paper which is very often a problem. I think that the very slight uneven texture within the paper is too much for the machine...well, that;'s one theory anyway.
But enough, I don't love fussy cutting and this is a speedy alternative even if I have to spend ages trimming and smoothing cut items before putting the project together.
Here is the card...
Hindsight is great, isn't it. Anyhow, I think the card will go to our friend, I find most folk are very accepting... I haven't the time paper or patience to attempt another, and it's not too bad really, just me applying my overly critical assessment skills.
It will need to be hand delivered though, as it is quite frail and would be destroyed in the mail. (Plus it's a bit late now anyway, if I'm honest! ;)
Bye now, see you later, alligator,
Di
