I don't use these very much in my own journals and cards as I prefer a clean and simple look, generally. But many people like them, they can certainly add a bit of colour to a plain page or sparkle to an embellishment.
I made some pins, using beads and crystals on various length pins from my stash, dangles from beads and paper flowers and finally some paperclip side dangles.
These can be fun, even on a plain journal, to add to the sides of pages, and can be practical as well as pretty as they can obviously hold a journaling card or other ephemera under the clip...on both sides...
Now I have the box making process down pat, I will make a video showing just how easy they are to make just the size you want with well fitted lids every time...they make such useful packaging for small objects and are great fun to decorate.
I have made a couple of plainer ones also which could be used to contain a gift card or piece of jewellery such as a plaited leather wrist band for a chap...but more on those later, this post is getting long enough...oh, then there are the match box cards...I can see boxes will be a bit of a theme for a while now...
The Wattle bird who belly flops repeatedly into our smallest bird bath until it is empty and has such an amusingly complacent look on his face once he manages this feat...the old blackbird who lies down and wallows in the water for ten to fifteen minutes at a time, ferociously fighting off all other comers who line up above him on the fence and wait so impatiently for their turn in the bath, (there are several other water baths available...).
The video takes such a time to edit that it is a real rainy day job...I will keep trying from time to time...
