Today in Australia, we celebrate the Queen's Birthday with a public holiday. So, happy birthday to you, your Royal Highness...we are enjoying a very pleasant and mild Winter's day in your honour. I have now long given up the thought that you might pop in for a cuppa one day, although for a considerable period of my life, this is before I went to school aged four, mind, my mother had me convinced that the Queen was indeed very possibly be coming to our place for afternoon tea, in fact I distinctly remember telling someone that and getting a very incredulous response...looking back I think it may simply have been a ruse to get my more willing assistance with the daily household chores, just in case today was the big day...one couldn't after all, have a dusty mantelpiece, could one?
The zebra inchie was a no brainer this week. A small piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, draw a few lines with pencil and darken and thicken them with a Pitt brush pen in black and voila!
I made a slightly larger piece than I wanted and cut out the inchie from the piece where I though it looked most appropriate, added it to the red mount board piece (chosen for the graphic impact) and that was it. I have seen zebra's several times in zoos but thought this little hand drawn piece was a good alternative.
